Beef Stew
1-2 lbs steak cut into cubes
3-4 carrots, sliced thickly
2-3 stalks celery, sliced in 1" pieces
3-4 new potatoes, sliced thickly
2-3 small onions
1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper
garlic
paprika
Heat small amount of oil (or cooking spray) in large skillet.
Brown beef chunks, seasoning with salt/pepper/etc. Place beef in
bottom of Crockpot and top with vegetable (except mushrooms) and
a bay leaf or two. Add water to barely cover. Cook all day on low.
Stir in mushrooms 15 minutes before serving. Serve with bread or
rolls.
