Holiday Cran-apple Sauce

1 cup fresh cranberries
8 apples, peeled, cored, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick cinnamon, halved crosswise
6 whole cloves
Ground nutmeg

Combine cranberries, apples, and sugar in slow cooker. Place cinnamon
and cloves in center of a 6" square of cheese cloth. Pull up sides
and tie to form a pouch. Place in pot. Cover and cook on LOW 4-5
hours or until cranberries and apples are soft. Remove spice bag.
Puree hot fruit in blender or food processor fitted with a metal
blade. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes about 3 1/2 cups.
