Crock Pot Fish Stew

3 large red snappers or flounder (1 1/4 To 1 1/2 Lbs) cut in 2" pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, sliced
1 green pepper, cut in 1" pieces
1 or 2 zucchini squash, sliced
15 oz can whole tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon leaf basil
1/2 teaspoon leaf oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 to 3/4 cup fresh mushrooms, optional

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Stir gently, but thoroughly.
Cover and cook on High setting for 4 to 6 hours. Makes 6 servings
(about 3 quarts).
