French Onion Soup
7 medium onions, thinly sliced (about 7 cups)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 cups beef broth*
1 cup water
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp pepper
In a large skillet saute onions in the butter, cooking until tender,
about 20 minutes. Place onions and butter into crock pot. Add the
beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Cover and cook
on low heat setting for 4 to 6 hours. If desired serve with cheese
crackers or croutons. serves about 12
