GOETTA Crock Pot version
3 cups pinhead oatmeal or stone cut oats 2 onions 5 cups water 1-1/2 tablespoons salt 2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. black pepper 1 cup additional water, more if needed 1 package scrapple Combine 3 cups of oatmeal, garlic powder, onion and 5 cups of water in crock pot and cook on high for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add 1 cup of water and stir in. Add scrapple. Stir every 15 minutes for 2 more hours. Add water as needed. If too wet add more oats. They will cook soft in an hour. For additional thickening you might want to try instant potatoes.
Spoon into casseroles or wax paper and form loafs. Allow to cool and seal good. Freezes well.
Fry in a small amount of oil till edges are crisp and enjoy or heat in a microwave.
