Honey Hoisin Chicken Makes 5-6 servings
2 1/2 to 3 lbs. chicken pieces 2 T soy sauce 2 T hoisin sauce 2 T honey 2 T dry white wine 1 T grated ginger root 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper 2 T cornstarch 2 T cold water toasted sesame seeds
Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, wine, ginger, and pepper. Dip each piece of chicken into sauce; then place in slow cooker. Pour remaining sauce over chicken. Cover and cook on LOW about 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender.
Turn control to HIGH. Remove chicken from cooker and keep warm. Dissolve cornstarch in cold water. Stir mixture into juices in cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH 15-20 minutes or until slightly thickened. Spoon sauce over chicken and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
