Smoked Sausage & Lentils

1 lb lentils, rinsed and drained
1 small onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp baking soda
4 roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
2 cans (14.5 oz) chicken broth
1 lb. smoked kielbasa, cut in 1/4" diagonal slices
3 med. zucchinis (12 oz total) cut in diagonal slices
salt & pepper

In crockpot combine lentils, onion, celery, cloves, baking soda
and tomatoes; pour in broth. Cover and cook on low setting til
lentils are very tender when mashed with a fork (7-8 hrs).

Stir in sausage slices and zucchini. Increase heat setting to high
- cover and cook til zucchini is crisp-tender to bite and sausage
is heated thru (about 30 min). Season to taste.
