INDIVIDUAL CHOCOLATE CUSTARDS

2 cups heavy cream
6 oz. dark sweet chocolate, cut into bits
1/2 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
chocolate curls for garnish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In heavy saucepan, cook cream and
chocolate over medium heat. Stir until chocolate is melted and
mixture is smooth. Whisk in sugar, yolks (one at a time), and
vanilla. Strain custard into six 1/2-cup ovenproof ceramic cups,
and place in a baking pan. Add enough hot water to pan to reach
halfway up sides of dishes. Bake for 15 minutes, or until top is
set. Remove cups from pan and let cool. Garnish with chocolate
curls.
