Pudding

1 heaped tblspoonful plain flour
1 egg
2 heaped tablespoons sugar
1 big tblspoon butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 pint, or litre milk fullcream
nutmeg for topping

Select oven proof bowl of 1.5 pint capacity.

Put milk in suitable saucepan, and heat oven to 180 deg c.

Cream butter and sugar, add egg, vanilla and mix well together.

Add flour and mix to a paste. When milk is just boiling add to
paste slowly stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

Pour mixture into bowl, sprinkle with grated nutmeg and sit whole
in another bowl with one or two inches of water. Cook for about 30
minutes. Serve hot or cold. Will keep for four days in fridge.
