CREME DE MENTHE
1 1/3 cup vodka
1 1/2 cup sugar syrup
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
2 tsp. vanilla
Few drops green food coloring
1 lemon
3 cup granulated sugar
2 cup water
Combine vodka, sugar syrup, peppermint extract and vanilla in a 4
cup screw top jar. Add food coloring and stir. Store in cool,
dark place for 1 week.
For basic sugar syrup: Pare lemon very thinly (no white). Blot
peel on paper towel. Combine sugar, water and peel; bring to boil
stirring often. Simmer 5 minutes. Strain liquid into glass jar.
Cool before using.
