Glogg

1 fifth red wine
1 cup brandy (or vodka)
1/2 cup sugar
16 whole cloves
3 pieces of stick cinnamon
4 ounces dark raisins
10-20 blanched almonds
4-5 whole cardamom seeds cracked

Put raisins in cheesecloth ban; another bag for cloves, cinnamon
and cardamom. Put wine and bags containing the raisins and the
spices into stainless steel pan (do not use aluminum) and bring to
boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove spices and raisins
reserving the raisins. Add sugar to taste. Stir in brandy and
heat five minutes. Serve in a heat proof glass or cup with some
of the raisins and almonds in each.
