Hot Chocolate
2 pints milk
4 oz sugar
4 oz 100% chocolate
1 vanilla pod
1 egg
Heat the milk gently with the vanilla pod until well flavoured.
Melt the chocolate, whisk in the hot milk, then beat in the egg.
Simmer for 2-3 minutes
This makes a very rich drink with tiny globules of cocoa butter
floating on it. If you can't get whole cocoa, a reasonable substitute
is 3oz pure cocoa powder and 1oz cocoa butter.
