Chuoo La

500 gms minced meat (chicken or lamb)
1 1/2 tbsp salt or to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 inch ginger, chopped into small pieces
1 tsp garlic paste
25 gms onions, chopped
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
3 tbsp oil
4 cups of water

Heat oil in a saucepan. Fry chopped onion and ginger until brown
Add minced meat and fry for five minutes. Add salt, turmeric,
cumin, chilly, cinnamon, coriander powder and garlic paste and stir
well. Add water and cover it till it boils. Boil it for 3 minutes.
Serve hot.

Variation: Season it with fresh chopped coriander.


Nepalese Hakoo Chewyla - Roasted, Marinated meat

500 gms meat, roasted and cut into small chunks
2 tsp salt - or acc to taste
1/2 tbsp chilli
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp

Take a bowl. Keep roasted, chunked meat add salt, chilli, cumin,
ginger garlic paste and marinate well adding three tbsp of oil.
Marinate well, cover for 3 minutes and keep aside.

Variation: Can add green garlic/leek cut into 1 inch and marinate.
Serve cold.


Nepalese Chewyala wala

500 gms meat, boiled and cut into small chunks
2 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 tbsp chilli
1/8 turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
3 tbsp oil
10 pods of garlic pods
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds

To boiled, chunked meat add salt, chilli, cumin, ginger, and garlic
paste. Add three tbsp of oil. Marinate well, cover for 3 mins and
keep aside Heat a pan add one tbsp of oil , Add fenugreek when it
turns black add garlic for 1 sec with 1/8 tsp of turmeric powder.
Pour it over the marinated meat. Serve cold.
