Take some nice big apples (your choice) and core. Make sure the
apples will sit upright in a pan or use an actual apple baker.
Make a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins (all in the
amounts you prefer) Stuff holes with mixture, dot with butter and
bake at 350F till softened (can test it by poking with a fork).
You can also do this in the microwave if you prefer.

This is a great baked apple too:

Buy some pastry dough from your local grocery store (filo or
Pillsbury or whatever you like). Core some nice big apples - your
choice though we prefer a sour variety. Stuff with dates, brown
sugar, raisins cinnamon and/or freshly grated nutmeg. Place apples
on centre of pastry and secure ends together. Bake at 325F in
lightly greased baking dish until apples are softened and pastry
is golden brown.
