Lebkuchen
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup molasses
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp grated lemon peel
1 Tbl lemon juice
2 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp soda
1/3 cup citron (raisins are good too)
1/3 cup nuts
Mix honey and molasses. Add sugar, egg, lemon peel and juice.
Sift together and stir in flour, spices and soda. And fruits and
nuts.
Chill 2 hours. Mold into flattened balls. Decorate with blanched
almonds and citron. Bake on GREASED sheet at 400 degrees, 10-12
minutes.
