Marzipan

7-ounce package marzipan
assorted liquid food colorings
powdered sugar, sifted

To color marzipan, cut off tablespoon-size chunks. Tint with a
drop of desired food coloring, working the color into paste with
fingers. Experiment until you get the coloring you desire. If
marzipan becomes sticky while you shape it, dip shapes into powdered
sugar.

Shaping Leaves: Form leaf shapes by hand, or roll out marzipan into
a thin sheet, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and cut with a leaf-shaped
cookie cutter.

Shaping Flowers: Make a small cone by hand. Make little circles
(by hand or with a cutter) for the petals. Press petals around the
cone to make the bloom.

Shaping Bumblebees: Tint bits of marzipan with cocoa; press together
with plain marzipan to make striped bee body. Press a sliced almond
into each side of body for wings.
