GERMAN NUT CAKE

2 sticks butter or margarine melted
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
8 oz sour cream
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
12 oz jar maraschino cherries, drained and halved

Melt margarine in saucepan. Cool and add sugar and beat until
fluffy, Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Combine dry ingredients
and add and beat in gradually until smooth. Stir in nuts, cherries
and vanilla.

Gently fold in sour cream until well combined. Pour into a greased
and floured bundt pan and bake about 1 hour or tested done. Cool
in pan 10 minutes before removing.
