Pfeffernusse
2 1/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 1/2 tsp ground anise 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp ground allspice 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1/8 tsp ground cloves 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup soft brown sugar 1/3 cup molasses 1 egg 1 cup superfine sugar
Sift together flour, salt, pepper, anise, cinnamon, baking soda, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves.
In a second bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and molasses until light and fluffy. Add the egg, mixing well, and then mix in the Flour mixture. Cover and chill.
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 4, 350F, 180C Grease 2 baking sheets. Roll dough into 1/2 inch diameter balls. Place balls onto baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in center of oven until golden brown and firm to touch, approximately 14 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave to cool slightly. Dust with sugar while warm, then cool on racks.

I tried these once and everyone that tried them loved them only problem was trying to tell them the name my German not great not even good lucky me my wife is from Germany and she came to my rescue am getting ready to bake another batch this weekend
