CHRISTMAS PUDDING
3 oz flour
5 oz bread crumbs
salt
1/2 tsp mixed spice
1/2 tsp mace
3 oz shredded suet
1/4 lb brown sugar
1/4 lb each, currants and sultanas
3 oz raisins or dates (or dried cranberries???)
1 oz almonds, chopped
1/2 orange or lemon, zest and juice
1 tbsp golden syrup
3 drops almond essence
2 eggs
Mix all ingredients. Add stout to moisten. Steam for 6 hours.
