Chai Tea

3 sticks cinnamon
12 cardamom pods
1/3 to 1/2 whole nutmeg, grated
3 whole cloves
6 whole black peppercorns
Black tea, 2 tea bags (English Breakfast is excellent)
Soy or regular milk, up to 1 cup
Sugar to taste

Place all ingredients except milk and sugar in a 2 quart saucepan.
Add 4 cups of water. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and
simmer 10-20 minutes. Add milk until the color is a light brownish
tan and heat through without boiling. Strain and serve, adding
sugar to taste.
