Indian Gulab Jamun with Milk Powder

1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 Tablespoon melted butter
as needed half and half
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp rose essence
Oil/Crisco to deep fry

Mix the milk powder, flour and baking soda. Add the butter and
enough half and half while mixing with your fingers so that you
are able to form the mixture into 1/2 inch diameter balls. Deepfry
these balls on medium heat and add to sugar syrup.

Sugar syrup

Heat the water and dissolve the sugar in it. Remove from heat and
add the Rose essence. Add the jamuns while still warm and keep pot
covered for ten minutes.

This recipe I have used many times, and have it in Urdu as well, you need to practice it a couple times before serving it to your guests, because definitely first timers can't get it on the first try. This is best for about 4 people because usually this recipe makes 12 gulab jamuns... but overall VERY VERY good recipe, and ofcourse, gulab jamuns are awesome too! :)

The worst recipe i have ever worked with. You mix the flower and powder contents in milk not with butter. Please take this recipe off the list.
