Molahu Kozhambhu

1 tsp black pepper
6 red chillies
1 tbsp chana daal
1 tbsp toor daal
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp coconut (grated)

Fry all ingredients (except coconut) in as little oil as possible.
Add coconut, grind (very fine) in blender.


1 flat tsp tamcon
2 tsp salt
1 tsp mustard seeds
pinch turmeric
1/2 can tomatoes
1 tsp rice powder
1/4 tsp hing

Heat oil, mustard seeds.

Add 4 cups water, tamcon, masala, turmeric, tomatoes, and salt to
the pan. Boil for about 10 minutes.

Add hing, rice powder and stir to thicken. Boil for another minute
or so.
