Naan

5 fluid ounces warm milk
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons yeast
3 1/3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
5 fluid ounces plain yogurt
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Proof yeast in milk with 1 tsp. sugar. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.
Sift flour, salt, and powder. Add the other tsp. sugar, yeast mix,
vegetable oil, yogurt, and egg. Mix and form a ball of dough.
Knead dough until smooth and satiny. Oil surface and cover dough,
let rise until double in bulk. Preheat oven to the highest
temperature possible, with oven tiles on the base of the oven.
Punch down dough, roll dough into desired shape and size. Slap
naan onto oven floor and let cook for ~3 minutes (bread will puff).
Put bread briefly under the broiler to brown the top side, or else
flip over halfway through the cooking. Serve hot.
