Chicken Marinade

3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons minced ginger root
4 cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 1/2 cups defatted beef or chicken broth

Combine all of the ingredients and marinade chicken overnight in
the refrigerator. Barbecue chicken as usual. To thicken the sauce
to brush onto chicken during grilling, you can drain some of the
marinade off into a pot, add some cornstarch (1/4 c or so) and heat
until it the starch gelatinizes. Brush onto chicken as it cooks.
