The best way I have found is to do a whole brisket at once. This is done on a barbeque or in an oven.
First, poke holes in your brisket with a large fork. Put it in a large foil roasting pan and cover with your favorite barbeque sauce. Let it marinate overnight, turning occasionally.
Get your grill very hot and sear the meat on both sides to seal in the juices. Put back in the foil roaster and seal completely with aluminum foil.
Put back on the grill over slow coals and leave untouched for four to five hours.

If you seal the meat in aluminum foil you might as well cook it in the oven.
