Alfredo Sauce

1/2 cup sweet unsalted butter
3 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (or to taste)
1/8 tsp. red pepper (or to taste)
1 pint half and half
8 oz. shredded/grated Parmesan cheese

Melt the butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add the flour
and spices, whisking briskly. Allow to cook until pasty. Slowly
add the cream, whisking constantly. Bring to a low boil. Add the
cheese, whisking constantly, until smooth.

Variation: add some pan fried cauliflower.
