Spaghetti Sauce

1 pound extra lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
3- 8oz cans tomato sauce
1- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes in juice
1 pkg Lawry's spaghetti sauce mix (reg or extra thick)
2 Tablespoons red wine
1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
1/2 cup diced green pepper (optional)

Brown ground beef and oregano together, then drain off fat. Stir
in Lawry's sauce mix. Add tomato sauce and diced tomatoes with
juice. Stir together and simmer for 20 minutes (you can extend
this time if you need to). Add wine and simmer another 10 minutes.
Optional: saute diced onion and green pepper in olive oil (don't
overcook) and add to the sauce with the wine. Makes about 6-8
servings. This sauce freezes well.
