My recipe for what I call American Chop Suey

1 large sweet onion 1 red bell pepper, medium 1 green bell pepper 1 tbs minced garlic 1 can crushed tomatoes. 1 lb ground beef 1 lb sausage (can be sweet or hot) salt pepper Texas Pete sauce 2 cups uncooked elbows, shells or rigatoni. Cut onions and peppers into bite size and saute. Add minced garlic. Cut sausage into bite size pieces and add. When sausage is almost done add ground beef. When done transfer all the above into a large pot add can of crushed tomatoes and simmer over a low heat. While this is cooking cook pasta until almost done, add to the pot and simmer 1/2 hr. Salt, pepper and add hot sauce to taste.
