Butter Tarts 24 tart shells (preferably 3") Boiling water 1/2 cup raisins 1/4 cup butter softened (do not use margarine) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup corn syrup (dark is best) 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Place raisins into bowl and pour boiling water enough to cover. Soak until the edges start to turn white then drain. Cream the butter and sugar then add corn syrup, vanilla, beaten egg, salt, raisins and walnuts. Mix all ingredients until blended. Half fill the pastry shells. Place into a 375 degree oven and then turn down immediately to 250 degrees. Bake for about 20 minutes.
