Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes

1 1/3 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
oil for frying
2/3 - 1 cup milk
1 egg
powdered sugar

Measure flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into 2-cup measuring
cup. Put at least 2 in. oil in pan, heat to 375. Break egg into
mixing bowl. Add milk, beat lightly. Add dry ingredients. Beat
until smooth. Hold finger over spout of funnel, or place a piece
of foil to close it. Spoon batter into funnel. Drop batter into
frying pan. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towel, sprinkle
with sugar, serve immediately.
