2 whole eggs 2 egg yolks 3/4 cup sugar 3 cup all-p. flour 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine 1/2 cup light. cream 1 t. baking powder
Cooking oil for deep frying
Confectioner's sugar
Beat whole eggs with egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored. Gradually beat in sugar. Stir in melted butter and cream. Sift 2 cup flour with baking powder and stir into egg mixture. Then stir in enough additional flour so that dough cleans the bowl. Roll onto lightly floured surface until 1/8" thick. Cut into strips or diamonds 3-4 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. Cut a slit in center of each strip and pull one end completely through slit. Drop into deep fat (375 on frying thermometer) and fry 2-3 minutes, until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sifted confectioner's sugar.
