ZEPPOLE
Sweet Puffs

1/2 cup butter
6 tablespoons sugar
4 eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 tablespoons brandy
1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
1 1/2 cups flour
vegetable shortening for deep frying
confectioner's sugar

Cream butter and sugar together, mix in eggs and next 5 ingredients.
Heat shortening in a skillet, drop teaspoons of batter into hot
oil. Fry several at a time over medium heat until puffy and golden
brown. Drain well on paper towels and serve hot, sprinkle with
confectioners' sugar or honey.
