1 lb cooked minced beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 lge carrot, chopped small
1 level tbsp flour
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
1/2 teasp cinnamon
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1/2 pt hot beef stock
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 lb potatoes
2 medium leeks, chopped
2 oz butter
Preheat oven to 200C. Fry onions in dripping until soft, add carrot
and meat, cooking for 10 minutes until meat and carrot are slightly
brown. Season, and add cinnamon, herbs and parsley. Stir in flour,
puree and stock and simmer. Boil potatoes and fry leeks in butter.
Cream potatoes when cooked and stir in leek minture and season.
Put meat into well greased baking dish, spread potatoes over the
top, and bake for 25 minutes.
For a traditional recipe, omit the herbs, cinnamon and leeks, but
you won't enjoy it as much!
