Shepherd's Pie

2 1/2 lbs ground beef
4 Tbsp olive oil
2 large onions chopped
3 large carrots peeled and chopped
1 cup beef stock or bouillon
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup A1 sauce
5 to 6 large potatoes boiled and mashed
1/2 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 375F. Boil and mash potatoes; heavy cream,
butter, salt and pepper to taste. Brown the beef in 2 tablespoons
of oil. Remove meat from the pan and set aside. Drain most of the
accumulated fat from the pan. Add remaining 2 tablespoons of olive
oil and saute the onions and carrots till tender. Add beef stock,
A1 sauce, garlic powder and beef to the pan and continue cooking
at a simmer for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Transfer
all ingredients to a casserole dish and top with mashed potatoes.
Bake uncovered for approximately 35 to 45 minutes or until the top
is a light golden color and the filling is bubbling at the sides.
Serves approximately ten people.
