Tamale Pie

3 cups water
3/4 cup corn meal
1/2 cup shortening or oil
1 large onion, chopped up
1 clove garlic, chopped up
1/2 green pepper, chopped up
1 lb. ground beef

1/4 lb ground pork
1 T. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 small can corn
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small can ripe black olives, chopped up

Melt shortening. Saute onion, green pepper and garlic. Add ground
beef and ground pork. Brown lightly. Add chili powder and salt.
Then add tomato sauce and olives. Cook slowly.

In the meantime cook the corn meal in 3 cups water. Until thick.
Line a casserole with corn meal mush. Fill casserole with filling.
Top with rest corn meal mixture. Start in a cold oven and bake 45
minutes, in a 350 oven.
