GREEN TOMATO PIE

4 cups green tomatoes 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 cups sugar 5 tablespoons cornstarch 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1 egg 1 teaspoon cooking oil pinch of salt 2 pie crusts for deep dish pie
Slice green tomatoes in 1/4 inch slices. In a bowl, mix together all dry ingredients, then add sliced green tomatoes and lemon juice. Beat egg, cooking oil, and salt; brush bottom crust. Keep bottom crust from getting soggy, then add mixed tomatoes. Put lattice crust or regular crust on. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 45 minutes on bottom shelf of oven.
