Vinegar Pie
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 cup water
1 pie crust
Cream butter and sugar. Add dry ingredients, egg, vinegar, and
water. Stir constantly while cooking in top of double boiler until
thickened. Pour into (cooked) pie crust and bake in moderate oven
for 20 minutes.
