CHERRY DUMPLINGS - KNEDLE WISNIOWE

4 tbs bread crumbs
3 tbs butter
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
salt to taste
1/2 pound of morello cherries
4 tbs melted butter
4 tbs sugar

Combine bread crumbs, butter, egg yolks and milk to form a paste.
Mix in flour and salt. Shape tiny dumplings, and insert 2 cherries
into center of each. Drop into a deep pot of boiling water, and
cook for about 5 minutes or until they rise to the top. Drain and
serve, topped with butter and sugar.
