Chicken with Honey

2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons oil
12 chicken thighs
2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 cup almonds, ground
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 lemon, juiced

In a casserole, heat margarine and oil and brown chicken; remove.
In remaining fat, cook onion and garlic until translucent. Add
almonds, basil, pepper, and honey and over gentle heat, cook,
stirring, until mixture is well blended. Combine broth and cornstarch
and add to contents of casserole; over high heat, cook, stirring,
until sauce thickens. Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, and
replace chicken, spooning sauce over. Bake covered at 350 for 1
hour, or until chicken is tender. It may also be cooked on the
stove.
