ALMOND APPLE WHEAT BREAD STUFFING

2 cups chopped Granny Smith apples
1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
3/4 cup chopped onions
3/4 cup chopped celery
4 Tbsp butter
1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
6 cups whole wheat bread, cubed
1 cup raisins
1/3 - 1/2 C. apple cider (juice)

Saute apples, almonds, onion and celery in butter for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir in spices and seasonings. Toss with bread
cubes and raisins. Stir egg in 1/3 c. apple cider; toss into bread
mixture. Add more cider if needed. [Can be baked in lightly
greased baking dish - Covered, 30- 40 min. w/turkey]
