Southern Cornbread Dressing

1 pkg cornbread mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1-1/2 cups toasted bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sage leaves
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
1-1/2 cups to 2 cups of chicken broth

Make the cornbread according to the package directions, but add 2
eggs put into greased pan and bake at 400, 20-25 mins or until
brown. Saute onion and celery in butter about 3 minutes. Crumble
cornbread in large bowl and add butter mixture. Add toasted bread
crumbs Add salt, sage leaves, and poultry seasoning Mix all together
then add 1-1/2 cups to 2 cups of chicken broth (do this gradually
and mix as you want the dressing wet but not soggy). Pour into
greased small to medium casserole. Can make ahead of time and put
in oven at 350 degrees and bake 30-45 minutes or until browning
on top.
