Apple Jam 4 1/2 lb. apples 2 c. water 1 pkg. Sure-Jell 5 c. sugar Peel, core and slice apples. Cook with water and Sure-Jell for 11 minutes; add sugar and bring to hard rolling boil. Cool, stirring 1 to 2 minutes. Put in sterilized hot jars and seal with lids.
The current USDA recommendations are to process the jam in a hot water bath for 5 minutes for pints.
