the math for more brine.
12 pickling cukes 1 large clove garlic 6-8 sprigs fresh dill 1/4 tsp dill seeds - optional 1 tsp pickling spices 1/4 cup pickling salt 1/4 cup white vinegar 2 1/2 qts water.
Pack cukes, dill and spices into crock or other container that will allow 2 inches between the cukes and top of container. Bring salt, vinegar and water to a boil and boil 2 mionutes. Pour brine over cukes. Weigh down with plate. Brine should be 1" above cukes. Keep at room temperature overnight then refrigerate.
I usually let the crock sit on my counter until the cukes are pickled enough than jar up.
