ICEBOX PICKLES

Thin slice enough onions and cucumbers to fill a glass gallon jug.

To one gallon use:

4 cups sugar
4 cups vinegar
1/3 cup salt
1 1/2 teaspoons tumeric
1 1/2 teaspoons celery seed
1 1/2 teaspoons mustard seed

Mix vinegar, salt and sugar until all is dissolved. Put tumeric,
celery seed, and mustard seed in jar and cover cucumbers and onions
with liquid mixture. Put lid on and set in refrigerator for three
weeks to cure.
