SEARCH RECIPES: LOCATION: Recipes >> Preserving >> Jalapeno Jelly 05    Jalapeno Jelly 05 JALEPENO JELLY Yield: 1 Cup jelly 1 cup jalepenos (chopped fine) 1 cup water 1/2 cup sugar 1 pkt gelatin On medium heat cook jalepenos and sugar until the mixture is reduced by half (about 20 minutes). Bloom one packet of gelatin (about 4 Tblsp), in 1 Cup cold water for 5-10 minutes, then add to mixture. Bring to a boil for a few minutes to make sure gelatin is dissolved. Just what I need. Was I wrong! This recipe is very ambiguous/confusing. It calls for a packet of gelatin, then mentions in second paragraph ''(about 4 tablespoons"). Well, one measured packet is equivalent to one tablespoon. Adding 4 was way too much for the quantity of other ingredients. My ''jelly'' (as I feared), turned into an awful rubber ball, and the texture was grainy. Quick and easy, maybe, but not worth trying again (even with 1 packet of gelatin). Total loss of time.
