Pear Honey

3 dozen pears (large)
3 large oranges (optional)
1 bottle maraschino cherries (chopped fine)
1 (no. 2 1/2) can crushed pineapple
sugar

Peel, core pears, peel oranges; grind both in food chopper. Add
pineapple; add 3/4 cup sugar for each cup pulp. Simmer about an
hour until pears are tender. Add cherries; pour in jars and seal
with wax. Makes about 12 pints. This is very good on pancakes.
Also good on Angel food cake.
