PEAR RELISH

1 gallon pears
1/2 gallon onions
12 green bell peppers
12 red bell peppers
1/2 cup salt (or less)
1 tsp. dry mustard

1 tsp ground cloves
4 lbs sugar (8 cups)
1 quart vinegar
1 Tbsp celery seed
2 Tbsp mustard seed
2 Tbsp turmeric

Grind pears, onions and bell peppers. Drain well in colander.
Add remaining ingredients to drained mixture and bring to a boil.
Boil 7 minutes. Place in hot sterilized jars and seal while hot.
Makes 18 pints.
