Pickled Asparagus
enough for 3 1/2 litres of asparagus

7 cups water
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups vinegar
1/3 cup salt

In each clean and sterile jar put 3 cloves of garlic and a dash of
pickling spices, 1 tsp cayenne or a hot pepper, and 1 tablespoon
dillweed or seed.

Gently place (washed and cut to length) asparagus into each jar.
Fill the jar to the rim with brine and put the lid and screw cap
on. Just under 1 lbs. Fresh asparagus to each jar.
