Print this Recipe    Walnut Meats

The following recipe was given to me by women from our local Grange here in Lake County, CA, where a lot of English Walnuts are grown.

Put nut meats in Mason jars - seal lid tight.

Bake at 225 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn oven off leaving jars inside oven to cool overnight.

Next morning, remove jars from oven directly to storage. The women claimed that these jars can be stored for up to 9-10 years if the seal is not disturbed. This method certainly beats freezing the nut meats, which is not good for long periods of time.
