Cranberry Wild Rice Salad

6 oz fresh cranberries (1 1/2 cups)
1/4 C. cranberry juice cocktail
2 tablespoons sugar
6 oz. wild rice, cooked
1/2 cup julienned carrot
1/4 cup minced scallions
1 oz shelled walnuts, chopped
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoons oil
Dash pepper

Put the cranberries, juice, and sugar in a saucepan and cook over
medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries pop.
(About 5 min.) Cool slightly.

Transfer the cranberries and accumulated juices to a large bowl
and add everything else. Toss to combine.
